Tears

A Villanelle

The tears are falling just like rain
Loving you as I do my plight
With such heartbreak feeling the pain

Upon my soul there is a strain
I never seem to get it right
The tears are falling just like rain

It feels as if I’m bound in chains
All these feelings, longing fight
With such heartbreak feeling the pain

My emotions are under strain
Holding myself in very tight
The tear drops are falling just like rain

You don’t love me that much is plain
I wish that you would leave my sight
With such heartbreak feeling the pain

Wondering how I can remain?
The pain of lovelessness, my plight
The tears are falling just like rain
With such heart break feeling the pain.

Lost In The Woods Fear

A Royal Chant

Everywhere I turn there's another sound
Suddenly I hear a piercing wolf's howl
Night creatures are returning to their ground...
Listening attentively there's a growl
My heart is pounding and taking a dive
Praying I get out of the woods alive
My skin is starting to get extra tight
Will the moon return to give me some light
I get down on my knees, begin to pray
Is that a bobcat, do I stay and fight?
Lord help me make it through another day...

Then I turned around heard a woeful sound
I'm scared it might be a werewolf's sharp howl
Be calm, my heart begins to quickly pound
All sorts of night creatures are on the prowl
Hoping I don't walk into a bee hive...
Having this fear is something not contrive
Stumbling about the forest tonight
Knowing I must look a comical sight...
I'm not very brave it's true I will say
Will I encounter an animal bite?
Lord Help me make it through another day...

Stepping cautiously over a high mound
Wishing I had a shovel or trowel
I'm feeling lonely with no one around
Feeling feverish I could use a towel
Counting my steps now, one, two, three, four, five
Hoping these small steps will keep me alive...
Terror is something I never did fight
If only I had a gas lantern's light
Time spent in the woods I wish it were day
Doing what i can as this fear is not trite
Lord help me make it through another day...

Hearing thunder a storm coming fear abounds
Fingers through my hair I do quickly plow
Keeping my wits I will truly astound
What is that odor, is it something foul?
Feeling the temperature take a dive
Looking for shelter to keep hope alive
Knowing I have to do some things right...
Trying the best i can with all of my might
Feeling like I'm stuck in a one act play
Holding in those fears now perfectly tight
Lord help me make it through another day...

Stepping up quickly onto higher ground
Brushing up against something soft like a towel
Getting excited as I look all around
Seeing a light no longer will I prowl
There to the left is my garden with chive
I found my way home keeping faith alive...
Rescuing myself, I'm feeling so bright
Battling my fears, I did win the fight
Inside my warm home is where I will stay
Everything finally turned out so right
Lord help me make it through another day...

Open the door and turn on all the light
Cheerful now, I did everything right
Conquering my fear I am proud to say
No more walks in the woods without a light
Lord help me make it through another day...

Asleep or Awake?

Here I go into the deep abyss
Churning spiraling falling down
Wonder if something is remiss?
With my face wearing a sad frown
The colors within the vortex so deep
Am I awake or in a dream?
Thinking that I’ll finally sleep
Things aren’t always as they seem.

Sailing Hearts

A Sonnet

Setting sail and drifting along so free,
Hearts open learning finally to go.
The world’s a treasure to explore and see
Any direction that the wind may blow.

Experiencing the wind and rapture,
Sailing forth into the world of romance.
Moments I discover and then capture,
Even older hearts get a second chance.

Realizing that precious time is so sweet,
Chasing away loneliness with bright light.
The magic wonder brings me to my feet.
Yes, my imagination’s taking flight.

Visions and promises hopes that we blend,
Pray that this journey in life will not end.

Serenity

A Kyrielle Sonnet

This is the perfect time of day
For me to finally find my way
Standing here not making a sound
Serenity at last I've found.

Now not asking questions of why
Seeing the sunset in the sky
Searching for peacefulness around
Serenity at last I've found.

Breathing deeply and standing still
Finally knowing that I will
Feeling I could dance in this ground
Serenity at last I've found.

This is the perfect time of day
Serenity at last I've found.

Being Alone

A Villanelle

It's said into each life must come some rain
Being alone is so different you know
Loneliness is a feeling that causes pain

Being without friends can be such a strain
Without happy times you can lose your glow
It's said into each life must come some rain

Not being accepted causes a heart stain..
Feeling like an actor in a one act show
Loneliness is a feeling that causes such pain

Feeling rejected will always remain
Wanting a close friend is something you know
It's said into each life must come some rain

Friendship provides the zest in life that's plain
A close friend is someone to help you grow
Loneliness is a feeling that causes such pain

You're trying to get on that friendship train
Being yourself and letting feelings show
It's said into each life must come some rain
Loneliness is a feeling that causes such pain

Fluorescent Sky

A Kyrielle Sonnet

Fluorescent Illusions to see
The sun lighting up the calm sea
The colors of the painted sky
Give pause to an artist to try

The majesty that nature holds
A sky painted in blues and golds
Reflections of a peace so high
Give pause to an artist to try

The beauty of it makes me whole
It soothes my troubles to the soul.
I can't find the hues of the sky
Give pause to an artist to try

Fluorescent Illusions to see
Give pause to an artist to try.
